The City of Vienna’s Department of Urban Development and Planning (MA18) commissioned LAUT to produce an information brochure on the Viennese superblock approach – the “Supergrätzl” (the word “Grätzl” referring to “neighborhood” in the local idiom).
The publication is geared toward informing local decision makers and the interested public about superblocks and how they can be appropriately and successfully translated into the Viennese context. It describes the concept's core values and attributes, situates the concept in relation to strategic planning, and identifies conditions, goals, and measures for implementation. It also puts forward an ideal process for approaching future superblock projects in the city.
LAUT developed the brochure’s content based on our detailed knowledge of the concept and in collaboration with the technical staff of MA18. Layout, design, and diagrams were done by LAUT. For selected illustrations we collaborated with the design firm LWZ design und animation OG.
