One-day, location-based information event on the superblock concept, implemented as an activity within the European Mobility Week 2025. The event consisted of three components that combined to create a temporary meeting and discussion space on the topic of superblocks in Innsbruck: an interactive, on-ground 1:50 superblock concept plan; an informational exhibition showing the first results of LAUT’s study on Innsbruck’s Superblock Potentials; and modular exhibition architecture.
In September 2025, LAUT implemented a one-day public information format hosted by the City of Innsbruck as a mobility action within the European Mobility Week. A visually appealing and large-scale physical installation aided communication of the city’s superblock project to a wider audience by creating public and media debate about possible superblock implementations in Innsbruck.
The intervention’s spatial elements were:
1:50 Scale On-Ground Superblock Concept Plan
A large (approx. 5x5 m) superblock concept plan on a scale of 1:50 with exemplary street widths and physical elements to explain the superblock concept. Scenarios comparing existing and transformed street spaces were illustrated and played out. The plan was constructed using physical elements made of weatherproof materials. This visually appealing, easily rearrangeable, and haptic format appeals to target groups of all ages.

Walk-in Information Exhibition
An exhibition informed participants on key results of LAUT’s Analysis of Superblock Potentials for Innsbruck and general information on the superblock concept. A check-in panel sought to activate and gather general mobility-related information about participants.
Modular Exhibition Architecture
The exhibition architecture is a reusable walk-in installation. Modular industrial products were adapted as readymades and complemented with street furniture qualities and eye-catcher elements that reflect the geometry of street signage and have a long-distance visual appeal to passersby.
