LAUT was hired by the City of Vienna - Urban Planning and Development (MA18) to contribute their expertise on superblocks to the pilot project “Transformation concept for Viennese neighborhoods” within innovation project Transformatorin. The aim of the Vienna pilot is to draw up guidelines for the orderly and controlled transformation of Viennese neighborhoods and to develop an evaluation and monitoring of the processes and measures.
The "Trans|formator:in" project contributes to the Viennese goal of a livable climate showcase city and to achieving the objectives of the Vienna Smart Climate City Strategy in the form of applicable tools and concepts for the transformation of Viennese neighborhoods with an international role model character. The aim of the Vienna pilot is to create a guideline for the orderly and controlled transformation of Viennese neighborhoods and to develop an evaluation and monitoring of the processes and measures. This transformation creates liveable, traffic-calmed residential environments with new uses and place qualities in public mobility spaces.
